casablanca.

Today I realized that I do not believe in a soul, for the belief of such belittles the beauty of the brain. The introduction of this concept into most religions should not affect things very much; the idea that, if you work hard and dutifully and in the name of your deity you will thereby obtain immortality, applies just as much as before. The tricky part would be convincing people that the immortality part isn't a free lounge-around-in-heaven card. Take Michelangelo David, for example, namely the fact that it's called Michelangelo David. Hours and days and years all spent working on a shitty chunk of marble that was banged up and dusty before he even got to it. You want to contribute his planning, knowledge of anatomy, attention to detail, unwaivering belief and drive to some intangible slacker spirit? I have no idea how this pertains to Casablanca.
